Community Day

On October 19, Falls Park and Pendleton Urban Forestry Committee are hosting a day dedicated to promote park pride, park beautification and the community!

Service Projects, 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Spend the morning beautifying the park with one of the 15 service projects which includes painting, picking up twigs or brush, planting trees or tulips, cleaning up litter, pulling weeds, and more.  Families and groups are welcome.

Check-in begins at 9 a.m. at the Gazebo., enjoy FREE, KID-FRIENDLY Yoga with Connie Rector at the Gazebo from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. 

All participants must sign a Volunteer Waiver Form. You may turn in your form to the park office located at 460 Falls Park Drive or turn in during registration/check-in.

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied at all times by a parent/guardian. Children between the ages of 13 – 17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or group leader/coach.

Activities include:

  • Live Broadcast by WEEM 97.1 FM
  • Falls Park will be collecting EMPTY & CLEAN GALLON JUGS (w/out caps) for Christmas Luminaries
  • GIVE A TULIP - TAKE A TULIP – community members will have the opportunity to support the TULIP PROGRAM by giving a tulip (suggested $1 each) to be planted that day & then can redeem for a tulip bulb in the spring to plant at their home. Give a Tulip Today!
  • Art Activities for children
  • Special tours of the Historical Museum
  • Pictures by the Conestoga Wagon
  • Story-time
  • Face painting
  • Non-profit organizations booths will be set-up for participants to visit
  • Demonstration from Pendleton Urban Forestry Committee - How to Properly Plant a Tree

Donations

Falls Park will be accepting the following donations at Community Day at the Park:

  • Empty gallon milk jugs for Christmas Eve luminary display
